Following the Oilers' elimination in game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals, Connor McDavid revealed he played with an injury, which fans are now saying was a scam.

NHL fans are furious with McDavid for revealing he had an injury, which doesn't seem to have been true after all, as videos have been surfacing online showing McDavid wakeboarding like a pro.

Summer's with the McDavid's

The video clearly shows McDavid as having absolutely no abdominal issues whatsoever, which was the injury he claimed to have had when it was disclosed during the Oilers' locker cleanout day. Wakeboarding requires a tremendous amount of abdominal strength, and clearly, McDavid seems to be doing just fine in that regard. Fans are now calling him out, saying his injury report was one big scam.

So the injury news was a scam I guess

It hasn't been that great of a summer for McDavid thus far. Not only did he lose game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals in heartbreak fashion, but he was also criticized for snubbing Gary Bettman when he didn't appear to accept the Conn Smythe trophy he was awarded. Now, fans are calling him out for faking an injury.

McDavid does not come out to accept the Conn Smythe Trophy.

It goes back into the Zamboni tunnel to a chorus of «Bobby!» Chants.

Regardless of all the negativity surrounding McDavid recently, Oilers fans should be happy to know he clearly seems healthy, and likely won't require surgery. Fans can expect him to put up over 100 points once again next season.
