The Montreal Canadiens have arguably the most passionate fanbase in the entire NHL, but rookie Joshua Roy hasn't done himself any favours with his latest act.

While seemingly every one of the 32 teams currently in the NHL have passionate, loyal fan bases, but anyone who has visited the province of Quebec will tell you that there's no passion quite like that of the Montreal Canadiens. Unfortunately for prospect Joshua Roy, he has taken advantage of that passion, as it has now been revealed that the 21-year old no-showed a signing event that fans had paid to attend.

According to the report, Roy did not inform the people running the event that he would not attend, with upwards of 60 fans in attendance left waiting for over an hour to see the former fifth-round draft pick. The fans were compensated for the no-show, and while it's unclear why Roy was unable to attend, it's certainly not a good look, especially in a place like Montreal.

This season, Roy is starting with the Laval Rocket of the AHL, where the right-winger has been off to a solid start, tallying 1 goal and 3 assists through four games, with the 21-year old having high hopes of returning to the NHL this season. He made his debut last year due to the injuries sustained to the forward group, playing in 23 games and impressing with four goals and nine points on the year, showing that he could be a genuine piece of the future for Montreal.

There may be a great explanation for the situation involving Roy, but from the outside looking in, it's definitely not the best look for a young prospect looking to make his way in the NHL, especially in Canada, so we will provide an update on the reason behind his no-show if one becomes available.
