The New York Rangers have been falling apart in recent times, and now the Devils are taking advantage of it and trolling their division rival while dominating them in the final game before the holiday break.

After several years of fantastic regular season performances, the New York Rangers have struggled as of late, and now it appears to be getting worse and worse as the days roll on as the franchise now lacks direction and confidence as they look to make some more huge moves.

On Monday, things hit rock bottom as the team scratched veteran Chris Kreider before letting in goals early and often against the Devils, who hold a commanding 5-0 lead over their Metropolitan Division rivals.

With a commanding lead, the Devils then hilariously trolled New York, playing a video of the fans' reaction to the Devils drafting Jack Hughes back in 2019, before cutting to Hughes smiling on the bench.

Back in 2019, the Devils held the No. 1 pick while the Rangers were picking No. 2, and with Rangers fans in the building wanting to land Kakko, they were ecstatic when the Devils picked Hughes at No. 1, expecting the Finnish forward to be a star for the franchise.

Fast forward five years later, and Hughes has graced the cover of the NHL 25 video game and has become one of the best young forwards in the game, while New York traded Kakko a week ago, ending a disappointing run in the Big Apple.

During the game, the Devils continued to pile on the goals against Jonathan Quick and the struggling Rangers, and while the team has a few days to step away and hopefully get back to their best, things aren't looking good for the once-promising Rangers.
