Craig Berube rumored to be adding former Bruin to Leafs coaching staff
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Craig Berube will be the team's new head coach next season and how he is rumored to be bringing former Bruin Marc Savard with him.
The Leafs announced the signing of Berube this afternoon, adding him to the organization for the next four years. However, he will obviously need a coaching staff around him, and the Leafs could be looking to make a complete overhaul to their coaching staff.

One option that has suddenly popped up is Marc Savard. Savard was a very good player in the NHL himself, scoring 706 points in 807 career games. He spent more time with the Boston Bruins than any other team, playing just over 300 regular season games with the organization. Since then, he has gone on to have a successful career as a coach in the NHL.
Boomer on Barnburner today said that he has heard that Marc Savard is going to Toronto. #Flames #LeafsForever
Notably, Savard has worked under Berube in the past, as he joined the Blues coaching staff in 2020, the year after Berube took the team to their first ever Stanley Cup championship. Savard helped run the Blues' special teams when he worked with Berube.
After the Cup year, Berube had Marc Savard and Jim Montgomery run consistently very good power plays. Blues' special teams cratered in 22-23.
Great motivator and keeps people accountable. Need to nail the assistant hires on the systems/tactical side
Savard most recently worked with the Calgary Flames this year, and was in charge of their powerplay. While the Flames did not have a very good man advantage this season, the Leafs certainly have more dangerous options to work with.
Marc Savard was in charge of CGY's power play this season (if that's what he's coming to TOR for) generating at 17.9%, good enough for 26th in the NHL
But given the type of player Savard was, and the players on TOR, he's probably a better option than Boucher.

Be sure to stay tuned to see if Savard joins the Leafs this summer.
