Goal songs in hockey have becoming an increasingly huge topic in recent years amongst fans, and for the Maple Leafs, one of the most divisive has been Hall & Oates, which used to play in ScotiaBank Arena every time the team scored. However, this has now been changed by the team as they look to continue shaking things up and keeping them fresh, and there's at least one player who enjoyed the change.
During a recent TSN video, goal songs became a discussion as several Maple Leafs players tried to guess goal horns from various teams in the NHL, and when asked about Hall & Oates, Max Domi had this to say;
It's unclear exactly what Domi had against the song, but he called it just terrible during the quiz, and while there were many Maple Leafs fans defending the song in the replies, there were plenty that agreed with him as well.
Like Domi, those fans and many others are all very excited the team has made the change, as goals should bring energy to a crowd, and this song just didn't fit the vibe the team was ultimately looking for. With the likes of Auston Matthews lighting the lamp many a time over the past few years, the fans have gotten used to hearing the goal song several times throughout every game, so hopefully for Domi, whatever Toronto plays this season will be played a lot and will be much better in his eyes.
