Arber Xhekaj Runs Into Referee In An Angry Tirade After His Goalie Gets Shoved
Last night Montreal Canadiens defenseman Arber Xhekaj came to the rescue of his goaltender after an opposing player came after him. In the process of defending his goaltender, Arber Xhekaj ran over a referee trying to get to another player.
Xhekaj Runs Over Referee In Rage Enduced Tirade
In a heated battle between the Florida Panthers and Montreal Canadiens a mad dash for the puck ensued. Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues was racing to grab the loose puck when Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembault picked it up. In pursuit of the puck Rodrigues ran into Montembault.
Immediately Canadiens defenseman Arber Xhekaj took offense to this move by Rodrigues. He came flying across the ice to try and go after Rodrigues. A referee saw this develop and stepped between the two players. This did not stop Xhekaj however who tried to shove his way past the referee.
Look at how Arber Xhekaj immediately goes after Evan Rodrigues after his dirty trip on Monty.

In the end this was a job well done on all sides. Xhekaj came to the defense of his guy while the referee came in to make sure that things did not get out of hand. Arber Xhekaj is once again showing his value as a top-level teammate and protector on the ice.
