1000-Game NHLer Ditches League to Play in Sweden
A 1000-game veteran has ditched the NHL in favor of playing in his home nation as his retirement gets closer.
Stralman Heads To Sweden
Anton Stralman has had a lengthy NHL career that has spanned 938 regular season games and 1,051 total games. Throughout his career, he has played for seven organizations starting with the Toronto Maple Leafs and ending with the Boston Bruins.
Stralman played the majority of his NHL career with the New York Rangers and the Tampa Bay Lightning. A 2005 7th-round pick of the Maple Leafs, Stralman defied the odds by becoming a first-pairing staple for years and has proved himself as one of the best shutdown defensemen in the NHL.
He is estimated to have earned over $47 million throughout his 16-year NHL career.
