The offseason always brings an end to a number of players' careers. Today an NHL veteran has announced his retirement from the NHL.
Soderberg Retires
Carl Soderberg has announced his retirement from professional hockey. The Swede spent 9 seasons in the NHL and several more overseas.
Soderberg's NHL Career
In his 9 seasons in the NHL Soderberg was a solid role player who excelled on the defensive side of the puck. He had his career year in 2015-16 when he put up 51 points in 82 games for the Colorado Avalanche. He also captured a World Championship Gold Medal for Sweden in 2017.
Soderberg Finishes His Career In Sweden
Soderberg returned to Sweden for the 2021-22 season where he captained the Malmo Redhawks for the season. He also played for the Redhawks in 2022-23.
