Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews are the heart and soul of the Toronto Maple Leafs and over the course of their career so far, they've developed a strong friendship. The two are one of the best duo's in the NHL, have great chemistry on the ice and apparently off the ice as well.
Mitch Marner's fiance posted a picture of a hike on one of her recent trips, which Marner responded saying:
Why don't I ever get piggy backs...
And Auston Matthews hilarious responded saying:
I honestly thought that was you at first.
The Maple Leafs have already been off for a few weeks after getting eliminated in the first round ... again ... and it's pretty clear that this upcoming season will be very important to the duo's future going forward, they cannot afford another first round exit.
If the Leafs lose yet again, it will most likely mean the end of the Kyle Dubas era and the whole team will probably receive a shakeup from top to bottom.
