At the end of the 2021 playoff run which saw the underdog Montreal Canadiens make it all the way to the Stanley Cup finals, Carey Price was battling some injuries that he was playing through.
At the beginning of the 2021-22 season, Price entered the NHLPA's player assistance program after having some problems with alcohol. He then re-aggravated some injuries which he was rehabbing through for most of the season.
Price is still dealing with those injuries and despite having another 3 years on his deal after this season, it looks like his time as a Montreal Canadien has come to an end.
Today on his wife's Instagram, she was answering some questions regarding their future, and she has officially confirmed that at the end of this season, they will be putting their house up for sale and moving out west.
Price will need to return each season to ''fail'' his physical before being allowed to leave the team again, but them putting their permanent home up for sale all but confirms his playing career is over.
Price most likely will not retire due to the cap implications it will cause to the Montreal Canadiens, but pending a huge comeback, his time in the National Hockey League is most likely over.
