BREAKING: Darcy Kuemper Missing The First Game Of The Season For A Wonderful Reason
Darcy Kuemper, the starting goaltender for the Washington Capitals, will be missing the first game of the year.
Kuemper Misses The Capitals Opening Game
Normally when a player misses the opening game of the year, it is for an injury or an illness that teams are unenthused about. While Darcy Kuemper will be missing the opening game of the year, it is not for either of these reasons.
The Capitals could see big changes to their lineup for the season opener against the Penguins, as Darcy Kuemper's status is up in the air after he and his wife welcomed a baby boy overnight.
While there are many bad reasons to miss opening night, this is one of the few good ones that fans love to see.
We congratulate the Kuemper's on the birth of their son and wish them the best as they embark on this journey of parenthood.
