BREAKING: Defender Wears Pride Tape Rebelling Against Bettman
A defenseman has quietly spoken out on Gary Bettman by discreetly wearing Pride Tape in protest of his ban.
Dermott Wears Pride Tape
Travis Dermott, a defenseman for the Arizona Coyotes, has been spotted as the first NHLer to openly rebel against Gary Bettman by using Pride Tape on the shaft of his stick.
I just noticed Travis Dermott is quietly using @PrideTape tonight! This is what allyship looks like folks! #Yotes #HockeyISforEveryone
While it is not all too visible, it is quite evident that Dermott is using the tape on his handle.
Bettman banned pride tape earlier in the offseason so with it taking only a couple of weeks for the first player to rebel, it is proof that players will stand up to Bettman.
It is unknown what Dermott's punishment will be but it is most likely that he will wind up getting fined and if he continues to wear the tape, potentially even suspended.
