Alex Galchenyuk was drafted 3rd overall by the Montreal Canadiens back in 2012, and in his first 4 seasons with the team it really looked like he was emerging as a super star, especially in 2015-16 when he put up 30 goals and 56 points.
Unfortunately though there has been quite a bit of talk about his lack of drive and it's caused him to get moved around quite a bit through his career.
He has played on 6 different NHL teams during his career, and might soon be joining his 7th.
Galchenyuk was signed by the Colorado Avalanche on a PTO but was released due to an injury. His injury has now fully healed and he has signed an AHL contract to play for the Colorado Eagles.

With all the injuries currently in the Avalanche roster, Galchenyuk could soon make the jump to the NHL if he proves he can still be a productive player in the AHL.
