Former NHLer Tomas Jurco threw an elbow at his coach in a heated exchange during the Spengler Cup.
Jurco Throws An Elbow At His Head Coach Holden
Near the tail end of the first period in HC Davos' game today during the Spengler Cup, head coach Josh Holden was screaming at former NHLer Tomas Jurco and Jurco retaliated by throwing an elbow at his coach.
Davos, meanwhile, has a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.
Crazy moment at the end of the period as Davos coach Josh Holden and forward Tomas Jurco go at it. #SpenglerCup
Holden, a former NHLer who played with Vancouver, Carolina, and Toronto, grabbed Jurco following a poor shift which Jurco responded with by throwing an elbow that narrowly missed Holden. After the elbow, Holden manhandled Jurco a bit more before leaving it.
Jurco was playing in his final game with HC Davos as he signed a contract to play in the KHL that would send him over mid-season. This is Davos' final game of the Spengler Cup and it seems clear that Jurco and Holden's relationship cannot be mended.
