The Boston Bruins have been red-hot to start the 2023-24 season, despite losing Charlie McAvoy due to suspension, but after being given his fate, the star defenseman officially appealed to the league.
The NHL holds up McAvoy's suspension
However, the league have now officially made their decision, and the four-game suspension for a shot to the head of Panthers standout defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larson.
Charlie McAvoy's four-game suspension has been upheld by NHL commissioner Gary Bettman.
This comes as no surprise after the league upheld the suspension to Calgary's Rasmus Andersson just days prior to this incident, but given how fantastic Boston have been, it doesn't appear as though they're going to miss a beat until the young star is back in the lineup.
