Samsonov was brought in to be the backup to Matt Murray, but when Murray went down early this season after one game, Samsonov took over and ran with the starting gig going 6-2-0 with a 2.23 goals against average and a .921 save percentage.
With the solid goaltending the Maple Leafs have been getting, they could be a legitimate stanley cup threat this season!
