We have some late-night breaking news for you all, as the Lightning and Wild have just completed a trade.
Maroon Off to Minnesota
That's right folks, the Tampa Bay Lightning have traded their Stanley Cup charm.
Tampa Bay traded Maroon, along with prospect Max Cajkovic to the Wild in exchange for a 7th-round pick. If that return feels low, just wait until you hear the best part.
The Lightning will be retaining 20% of Maroon's $1 million salary. It's clear that they were desperate to move this money out, but their reasoning is unknown right now.
Could the Lightning be gearing up for something big?
