This past season, the Boston Bruins shattered records and we expected them to go on and win the Stanley Cup but they were unfortunately knocked out in the first round.
With that exit, the future of the Bruins franchise has become uncertain and players such as Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci are looking likely to retire.
Bruins GM, Don Sweeney, provided a major update regarding his captain.
Depending on whether or not centers decide to retire, we can expect the Bruins to either enter a rebuild shortly or go all in one last time. If Bergeron and Krejci retire, their first line center would be Charlie Coyle or Pavel Zacha. No disrespect meant for either player but neither is a first line caliber center.
There will be massive holes for the Bruins to fill which they likely won't be able to do which will result in them potentially missing the playoffs all together. They are at a crossroads and depending all on Bergeron, they will either try one last time or they will end in one of the most disappointing fashions imagineable.
