The Minnesota Wild have announced that they have made a major coaching change.

Wild Make A Coaching Change

Today the Wild officially announced they have fired head coach Dean Evason as well as assistant coach Bob Woods.

Dean Evason and Bob Woods have been relieved of their coaching duties

Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin commented on the move.

«Dean did an excellent job during his tenure with the Minnesota Wild, especially as Head Coach of our team,» said Guerin. «I am very thankful for his hard work and dedication to our organization."

«I would also like to thank Bob for his hard work during his time as an Assistant Coach with the Wild,» said Guerin. «I wish Dean, Bob and their families all the best in the future.»

Guerin also announced that assistant coach John Hynes will be named as the new Head Coach.

Hynes was last in the NHL as the Head Coach of the Nashville Predators from 2020-23. The Wild will see their first action with Hynes behind the bench tomorrow against the Saint Louis Blues.
