While we know that both GM Kyle Dubas and Head coach Sheldon Keefe will be returning, there is sure to be turn-over on the roster.
One player and position that has drawn attention for speculation is UFA goaltender Jack Campbell.
Campbell set personal bests this past season with 31 wins while making a career-high 47 stars in net and earned his first All-Star appearance.
Considering Campbell didn't help the Leafs move past the first round, and his production dipped slightly in the 2nd half of the season there is speculation he may not be back next year.
On TSN's OverDrive hosts Bryan Hayes, Jeff O'Neill, and Jamie McLennan were joined on the phone by TSN's Chris Johnston, who acknowledged that despite Campbell's improvements this season, Toronto's goaltending hasn't been good enough to get the job done.
McLennan noted that the Leafs should consider Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky if he were to be made available in a trade.
If the Panthers were ultimately able to unload Bob and his hefty contract, they'd certainly have to retain at least half of his $10 million salary.
But would the Leafs be able to afford Bob even at a discount?
And could this be the Kawhi moment the Maple Leafs need, where 1 star player joins the organizations fold and pushes them to that elusive Stanley Cup, or even just 2nd round of the playoffs?
It remains to be seen.
