This past season the Vegas Golden Knights missed the playoffs for the first time in franchise history, and management believed it was time for a change.
Bruce Cassidy was named the Golden Knights new head coach following the DeBoer firing, which marks 3 coaches in 5 years.
No one knew what was going to happen with Peter DeBoer after all the controversy that surrounded him and goaltender Robin Lehner toward the end of the regular season, but it seems like a team was ready to take a chance on him.
Rick Bowness was the coach in Dallas for these last 3 seasons and chose to step down following the 2021-22 season, and we have just learned that Peter DeBoer will be taking over as head coach of the Dallas Stars.
