Ten-Year NHL Veteran Found Guilty Of Serious Crime
Former NHL defenseman Janne Niinimaa has been convicted of tax fraud in his home country of Finland according to multiple reports. Niinimaa has been sentenced to four months of suspended prison for his crimes.
"He was sentenced to four months of suspended prison, which means he can stay out of jail as long as he doesn't break any of the conditions of his probation." - Via TVA Sports
As long as Niinimaa does not get in further trouble he will not have to serve that prison time. Regardless this conviction places a bit of a dark cloud over the successful career of the offensive defenseman.
If he for some reason breaks the conditions of his sentencing or another update becomes available we will keep you aware of such developments.
