BREAKING: Two-Time Cup Champion Terminated by the Lightning
The Tampa Bay Lightning made a major announcement a few minutes ago.
Bolts Terminate a Contract
The team announced on X that they have placed Josh Archibald on waivers to terminate his contract.
Here's the official statement:
We have placed forward Josh Archibald on waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.
"Yesterday, I was informed by Josh's agent, and by Josh himself in a subsequent conversation, that he was not planning on playing hockey for the time being and that he would not be reporting to training camp. Consequently, Josh was placed on unconditional waivers earlier today for the purpose of terminating his contract.
We wish Josh, his wife Bailey, and their entire family the very best in their future endeavors." - Julien BriseBois
Only months after signing a two-year contract with the Lightning, Archibald announced that he won't play hockey now and will not report to training camp. While the details of his decision haven't been released, we can't help but think something major is preventing him from playing. We hope that it's nothing serious and that he'll be ready to come back soon!
