The Capitals have gotten under a conference rival's skin a little bit by poaching their new head coach from them.
Washington Capitals Poach New Head Coach From Conference Rival
The Capitals have been linked to Leafs assistant coach Spencer Carbery for a little bit now.
Just now, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reported that Carbery will be leaving Toronto for a promotion in Washington.
Carbery will be reunited with Rasmus Sandin who went on a tear with Washington last season putting up 15 points in 19 games.
Carbery will also go from one of the greatest goal-scorers in the NHL with Auston Matthews to the greatest goal-scorer of all time with Alex Ovechkin.
This will be a new challenge for Carbery but he has proven time and time again that he has everything it takes to be a coach at every level up to now.
