The Auston Matthews contract saga finally ended on Wednesday. Matthews signed a four-year deal with an AAV of $13,250,000. The deal makes him the highest-paid player in the NHL and has been met with mixed opinions.

Biz Speaks On Matthews Deal

After seeing Tweets complaining about the Auston Matthews contract and him potentially being overpaid Paul Bissonnette TNT analyst and co-host of the Spittin Chiclets Podcast took to social media to give his opinion.

Biz calls out anyone who thinks Matthews is overpaid. He goes on to praise new General Manager Brad Treliving for bringing back Matthews on what he considered a hometown discount.

Bissonnette Predicts Matthews' Future

Toward the end of the video, Paul Bissonnette gives his prediction for what the upcoming season will look like for Matthews and the Leafs. Biz projects another 50-goal season and a Hart Trophy for Matthews. He also predicts that Matthews and the Leafs will win the Stanley Cup with Auston Matthews being named playoff MVP.

While Leafs fans are happy with Matthews sticking around they would be ecstatic if Biz's predictions come true. If Matthews could bring a championship to Toronto all of the talk of him being overpaid would be silenced immediately.
