The reigning Norris Trophy winner has recently been included in yet another mock trade.
Karlsson And Burns Reunite In Carolina
This new suggested deal sends Erik Karlsson back to the Eastern Conference with the Carolina Hurricanes to reunite with former defense partner Brent Burns. The two spent some time together in San Jose when Karlsson was first traded there from Ottawa back in 2018. With this deal, this would reunite some old team chemistry and definitely improve Carolina's defensive core.
Return Haul Large As Expected
It goes without question that a trade return for Karlsson will be nothing less than large. In this specific trade however, the Sharks will be getting two players as well as two draft picks in return. It is bruising defenseman Brett Pesce as well as Pyotr Kochetkov heading back to the Sharks, along with a 2025 first round pick and a 2024 second round pick.
MOCK TRADE LINK
As we look at what a sample trade offer for Karlsson going to Carolina could look like. we will see if this is what San Jose decides on or if they decide to ship the longtime veteran defenseman elsewhere.
