Eklund of HockeyBuzz has many inside NHL sources and has revealed some major news regarding how the Bruins are intending on adding to their offense.
He is currently entering the final year of his contract and with there being no extension in sight for Marchessault, the Bruins could land him for a solid price.
Marchessault is coming off a monster playoff where scored 25 points in 22 games and took home the Conn Smythe in doing so.
Given how it would likely be a rental for Marchessault and how he is already 32, his value is not as high as other Conn Smythe winners. However, it would still cost a solid amount considering how he has scored at a 25+ goal pace in each of the past 7 seasons.
The cap is also an issue but it is something the teams could work out. However, if Boston is able to clear up the cap space, they could offer a package surrounding a roster player, a prospect, and picks to acquire Marchessault.
While it is vague what it would cost to acquire Marchessault, it can be quite the intriguing option for Boston.
