Incase you somehow missed what happened these last few days, here is a quick recap:
On Friday the Boston Bruins signed Mitchell Miller to an entry-level contract. Miller had been previously drafted by the Arizona Coyotes but had the pick rescinded after discovering he did some pretty serious bullying in his past.
The Boston Bruins took a lot of heat over the weekend for this signing, and after some false information came out yesterday regarding some organizations that Miller's agent claimed he was working with to better himself, the Boston Bruins terminated his contract.
The Bruins issued a statement on it all last night, but this morning Boston Bruins President Cam Neely spoke on the matter. He mentioned what he believed to be the biggest issue with the signing:
Q: What was the "new information?"
Neely: The fact that we didn't talk to the family was concerning to me.
Q: Why didn't you?
Neely: That's a great question, something I need to find out.
Q: Is this a problem with the vetting process?
Neely: Absolutely.
Neely was not a fan of the organization not reaching out to the victim's families regarding the matter, and when he was asked if their would be any punishments to his staff for this mess that was caused, he stated:
That's something I have to deal with today and this week and see where it takes me.
