With less than 2 minutes remaining in the first period, Ryan Hartman went to hit Cale Makar, got his hands a little high and Makar did not obviously appreciate it. Makar goes back after Hartman, pushing him to the ice and slamming his face to the ice a few times before the whistle goes and he skates away.
One thing the announcers missed though was it looked as though Hartman was holding Makar's stick which kept Makar from skating away initially to rejoin the play.
Makar received a 2 minute roughing penalty for the play.
