The Calgary Flames are having one hell of an offseason and unfortunately for them, it's not a good one. Already having lost Johnny Gaudreau in free agency, they are now about to lose Matthew Tkachuk either soon or at the end of next season at the very latest.

It was reported this morning that the Flames had turned down a rather large offer from the St. Louis Blues which included; Jordan Kyrou, Torey Krug and a 1st round pick. Now we are hearing they received an offer from an Eastern Conference team which they also turned down.

According to Steve Macfarlane, the Flames' beat writer

it was rumoured the Devils made a pitch at the draft that the Flames turned down.

Matthew Tkachuk is finishing a 3 year bridge deal that paid him $7 million AAV and is now an RFA. This young star scored 42 goals and 104 points this past season and added another 10 points in 12 playoff games.

After seeing Gaudreau take $9.5 million in free agency, it will be interesting to see what kind of contract Tkachuk is looking for value wise. If he is with the right team, he will most likely want the 8 year term, but will he be looking for $10+ million?
