Recent rumours have been circulating that the Vancouver Canucks could be interested in dealing veteran defenseman Tyler Myers in order to nab a top-6 forward. Myers is an interesting asset to shop around, as his contract is set to expire after this season.
Now that his 5 million dollar bonus is paid for this season, he only has 1 million left to be paid out, and that could be attractive for some teams. However, his 10-team NMC means that the Canucks will have to take it slow in a potential move in order to find the right fit.
Finding a top-6 forward that a team is willing to trade at this point in the season could be tough. Any team looking to make a run is likely loading up their top lines and isn't looking to deal with any real talent.
However, a couple of forwards have been rumoured to be on the trade block this offseason that could fit with Vancouver's top guys. This includes Scott Laughton of the Philidelphia Flyers, a 29-year-old who has been a late bloomer but scored 18 goals and 25 assists last season. Another potential target could be Victor Olofsson, a younger forward who notched 28 goals and 12 assists last year.
