Caps Forward Helped Off The Ice After Taking A Puck To The Head
Washington Capitals Mediocrity Continues
The Washington Capitals are in an unusual situation as a team. They have not been good enough to succeed in the playoffs lately including last year, where they missed the second season altogether. With a 5-4-1 record through 10 games they remain in limbo as a mediocre team that could get hot, but probably won't. Now they could be without a key player.
Mantha Leaves Game Early After Taking Puck To The Head
Capitals forward Anthony Mantha had to be helped off the ice by his teammates tonight after he took a shot to the head. He immediately fell to the ice in a lot of pain. Luckily the referee was standing right next to him and blew the whistle so he got get help.
So far Mantha has two points through 9 games this season. He scored 27 last year in 67 games for the Capitals. The Capitals announced that the forward would not return to the game on X.
