Confusing Scene in Montreal as a Second Player is Spotted With the C
In a recent presentation for Patrice Bergeron's retirement, a new face was seen wearing the "C" on his jersey.
Savard Captain?
The ceremony included several Montreal Canadiens players paying tribute to Bergeron. Among them was David Savard, who donned the captain's C on his jersey during the ceremony.
"David Savard with the C on the Habs jersey for the Bergeron retirement."
While this is likely a formality in honour of Bergeron's retirement, it does seem very odd. No other player there is graced with their teams' captaincy for this event!
Savard is a veteran NHLer who joined the Canadiens back in 2021-22. He has played over 730 games in the NHL.
"David Savard future captain?
Could Savard be an NHL Captain?
David Savard may be a great leader, but he's not the type of player usually thought of as a captain.
While he is valued by fans and management in Montreal, giving him the C for this event is a little odd!
