According to a report from NHL insider Renaud Lavoie, there will be no hearing and therefore no supplemental discipline for New York Rangers forward Alexis Lafrenière after Lafrenière took a run at Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final.
Hedman left the game after the hit, but returned in the third period.
Alexis Lafreniere better have his head on a swivel after this head shot on Victor Hedman. Dirty, dirty hit on one of Tampa's big dogs pic.twitter.com/KBMIH7PgK1 Joe Haggerty (@HackswithHaggs) June 12, 2022
There was definitely head contact and it looks fairly intentional, so it comes to a bit of a surprise that there is not atleast a one-game suspension for Lafreniere.
No hearing (so no suspension) for Alexis Lafrenière. The @NYRangers forward hit Victor Hedman hard during last game. Hedman left but came back in the third. Renaud Lavoie (@renlavoietva) June 13, 2022
