The Edmonton Oilers are always looking to improve their roster and could be bringing in a familiar face to improve their top six.

Oilers Linked To Eberle and Perron

The Edmonton Oilers currently have a wealth of offensive talent. Between Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl along with secondary options like Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Zach Hyman, and Evander Kane, the Oilers are not lacking in the offensive department at all.

However, they have five elite forwards and have had a rotating cast to fill in on the second line. They have been linked to many players as that potential final top-six piece and now could be bringing in a familiar face.

The Edmonton Oilers have been connected to forwards Jordan Eberle, Jake Guentzel, & David Perron. Per, Chris Johnston.

These three are all former all-stars and both Perron and Eberle had previous stints with the Oilers.

Which Would Be Better To Bring In: Perron Or Eberle

Jordan Eberle is a former fan favorite for the Edmonton Oilers. He started his career out in Edmonton playing with the Oilers from 2010-2017 before being traded to Long Island. Since then he has played with both the Islanders and the Kraken and earned an All-Star nod in 2022.

So far this season he has scored 9 goals and 28 points through 46 games which is a respectable 16-goal and 50-point pace. He has played in 986 career games and will certainly hit the 1000-game milestone before the end of this year barring any injury.

David Perron on the other hand had a shorter tenure in Edmonton. Playing in just 1 and a half seasons with the team, he proved to be quite a valuable asset when he did play for the team. He has bounced around the league since being an Oiler winning a Stanley Cup in 2019 and earning an All-Star nod in 2020.

This year Perron has been fine scoring 10 goals and 23 points through 44 games which equates to an 18-goal and 44-point pace. While he is no longer in his all-star form at 35, he still has good hockey left in him and could return to his former franchise.
