the Edmonton Oilers are doing everything in their power to turn their season around, and this includes potentially trading this young defenseman.
Oilers Look to Trade Young Defenseman Broberg to Turn Season Around
The Edmonton Oilers are pulling out everything in their arsenal to try and turn their season around, and now they are reportedly looking at trading one of their young defensemen in order to bring life back into the team.
According to Kevin Weekes, the Edmonton Oilers are looking at trading defenseman Philip Broberg.
👀 I'm told the @EdmontonOilers are exploring potential Trade options on young D Broberg. Given the #LetsGoOilers Cap situation, it would likely have to be dollar for dollar transaction. #HockeyX #HockeyTwitter #Alberta .
Broberg is on the last year of his entry-level deal, and it appears the Oilers are looking to move him for an asset that could have an immediate impact.
Broberg has played in just 10 games for the Oilers this season and has yet to record a point. He sits at a minus-two rating.
Oilers Have Had Recent Success They Hope to Build On
The Oilers have done a decent job of hushing trade rumours through their recent play, winning 4 straight games. However, they are still a long way from being a contending team, and Ken Holland has his work cut out for him.
The biggest move the Oilers are looking for is someone to play with Stuart Skinner in the net. While it has been rumoured that Jack Campbell will make his return, his numbers haven't impressed in the AHL, and the Oilers will need a formidable duo to take on the challenge that lies ahead.
BROBERG FOR JAKE ALLEN PLEASE
We will see if Ken Holland has any tricks up his sleeve to turn this season around in his final as GM of the Oilers.
