Evgeni Malkin has consistently been one of the best players of his generation. However, some fans have begun to doubt him as he has cooled off recently this season.

Malkin Goes On Month-Long Cold Streak

The 37-year-old center has been struggling to find the back of the net recently. In his last 12 games he has just three goals. However, he also contributed to a critical own goal as mishandled a pass, leading to the puck sliding into his own net on a delayed penalty against the Arizona Coyotes.

This was the lowlight in a tough stretch for the veteran center. Malkin himself has recognized that he hasn't been playing to his usual standard. However, he also stated that he thinks he still has it.

"I know people say I'm not good player now. For, like, maybe month or more, they are right. But I'm not done as good player. I know what is true." -Evgeni Malkin

Malkin Scores Clutch Goal To End Goal Scoring Drought In Key Moment

Malkin may have redeemed himself last night when he scored a goal to tie the game against the Florida Panthers with less than a minute to go in regulation. It was his first goal in six games, but it could not have come at a better time as it secured at least one point for the Penguins, who are in a tight playoff race.

Unfortunately for Malkin and the Penguins, they would go on to drop the game in overtime. Still, that point could prove to be crucial come the final days of the season.

As seen on Malkin sends a message to his doubters.
