Today is a sad day for the Boston Bruins organization as one of their former captains has passed away.

Today it was announced that former Boston Bruins captain Ed Sandford has passed away at the age of 95.
It is with sadness that we share Ed Sandford, who had been our oldest living Bruins Alumni member, has passed away at the age of 95.
Sandford was the Bruins captain during the 1954-55 NHL season.
Sandford Leaves Behind A Successful NHL Legacy
Ed Sandford played 9 total seasons in the NHL totaling 502 games. He was a one-time all-star as well. In total throughout his career, he had 251 points. After his time with the Bruins Sandford also played with the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks.
Our thoughts are with Sandford's family during such a difficult time.
