Former First Rounder's Contract Terminated After Fight With Management
Quinton Howden, a former first-round pick, had a disagreement with his organization that led to a contract termination.
Contract Termination
It's been reported that Howden's contract was terminated by Vasterviks IK, a team in Sweden's Allsvenskan.
Quinton Howden is leaving Västerviks IK just two months after signing a contract with the second-tier Swedish club.
The 31-year-old Olympic bronze medalist reportedly did not agree with the management on how he should be deployed," Hockey Worldwide on Instagram said.
Apparently, Howden wasn't happy with the way he was treated by his team and decided to leave.
Howden's Journey
The 31-year-old center was drafted 25th overall in 2010 by the Panthers.
He remained in Florida for a few years but never really earned his spot on the regular lineup. His best season was in 2015-16, and he only scored 11 points in 58 games.
Later, he briefly joined the Jets before heading to Europe.
Since then, he has played in the KHL, the Liiga, and the DEL.
