After missing the team's past nine games following an upper-body injury, the Wild have now announced that veteran forward Frederick Gaudreau has been placed on Long-Term Injured Reserve.

The #mnwild has placed F Frederick Gaudreau on Long-Term Injured Reserve. In addition, G Jesper Wallstedt will accompany the Wild to Sweden as the team's third goalie.

This is a tough break for the veteran forward, and for a team that's struggled defensively all year, losing one of their best two-way players is another tough break.

In just six games this season, the 30-year-old forward recorded 0 points following his two best seasons of 44 and 38 points, and with this injury, he could be out for quite some time.

The official details of the injury haven't been disclosed by the Wild, and thus there's plenty of uncertainty about the rest of his 2023-24 season, but as a solid bottom-six winger, the team will be hoping he can get back for their potential playoff push this year.
