Gary Bettman Provides A Major Update On The 2018 Team Canada Scandal
The Hockey Canada investigation into the 2018 world junior championship team is the story that just will not end for the NHL this season. There has not been a major update in the story in quite some time now and today Gary Bettman confirmed that the investigation has not been completed yet.
Bettman Provides Another Update To 2018 Hockey Canada Investigation
We got more of the same today as Gary Bettman addressed the ongoing investigation at the league's board of governor's meeting this morning. The league commissioner essentially confirmed that the investigation is still ongoing, but that they are seeking a conclusion. He did not provide a timeline for when that conclusion could possibly be made public.
Gary Bettman, on 2018 Canadian world junior team: "The process is continuing and we're trying to bring it to a conclusion. It's complicated. It hasn't been easy for a whole host of reasons, but we're continuing to progress on the process."
Fans and media members alike were not particularly pleased with the update, given that it is basically the same thing the league has been telling us for quite some time now.
It seems like we will still be waiting then for the results of this investigation to come out. At this point it could be a month from now or it could be six. We really do not have much of an idea.
