The Vegas Golden Knights are known to do things their own way.

A few days ago, it was reported that the Knights would engrave the Cup before the players have their individual day with the trophy. It may be small, but it's still different from other teams.

Now, they've sparked another controversy with the Stanley Cup.

Golden Knights Refuse to Put a Player's Name on the Cup

The Stanley Cup is already engraved with the players' names, and we can't help but notice that they didn't put Nolan Patrick's name, even though he was under contract with the team when they won.

In 2021, he signed a two-year contract in Vegas, but he hasn't played all season, dealing with a major recurring migraine problem.

Rules of the Cup

Champion teams can only write 52 names on the Cup. This includes players, staff, and management. There are certain criteria to meet to be able to read your name on the Cup. Unfortunately, Patrick didn't fulfill any of them: he didn't play 41 games or more this season, nor did he participate in a single postseason game.

Because of all this, Patrick's name isn't on the Cup, and it's causing a stir.

However, it's normal that the Knights want to prioritize people who've worked during this season with the team.

Do you think Vegas should have written Patrick's name on the Cup?
