The team made a bunch of offseason trades to bring in people like Cam Atkinson, Ryan Ellis & Rasmus Ristolainen but it wasn't enough to overcome these injuries and they ended up finishing near the bottom of the league. The team chose not to enter a rebuild in the offseason, instead they hired John Tortorella and just hoped that they had an off year and all will be back to normal this upcoming season.
According to Reporter Marco D'Amico of Montreal Hockey Now, a trade could be brewing to help the Flyers become a contender again.
The Montreal Canadiens are not a team that wants to be contending for a playoff position this upcoming season, while the Flyers are. The Canadiens have quite a few players that they should be trading away in exchange for draft picks, and apparently the Flyers could be interested in the services of Christian Dvorak.
A trade that would make sense for both parties would be something along the lines of a conditional first round pick that turns into a 2nd + another bonus if the Flyers fail to make the playoffs with Dvorak.
The hurting #BringittoBroad are desperate to return to the spring dance this season and the #GoHabsGo could make for an interesting trade partner.@mndamico breaks it down below:https://t.co/CzkWcKKKoX Montreal Hockey Now (@MTLhockeynow) September 22, 2022
