Hated St. Louis Blues Goaltender Officially Leaving the City
It has been confirmed that the St. Louis Blues will be without one of their top free agents will not be re-signed for next season.
Blues led go of NHL Goalie to Free Agency
According to The Athletic, Blues Goalie Thomas Greiss will not re-sign, citing his agent, Ray Petaku.
Petaku confirms that Greiss will hit the free agent market, citing the expectation that the Blues will promote Goalie Prospect Joel Hofer to the NHL, as the backup for Jordan Binnington.
Hofer, 22, finished 2nd in the AHL in wins, and was already expected to compete for the backup spot in St. Louis.
With Hofer the projected long-term option in net for the Blues, Greiss will find himself available to teams in free agency, a reliable backup option surely to gauge interest on a short-term contract.
Greiss appeared in 21 Games for St. Louis this season, having signed a one-year deal with the Blues last offseason. He compiled a 7-10-0 record with the team along with a 3.51GAA and a .896 SV% with 1SO.
