The New York Rangers made a surprising decision when their General Manager, Chris Drury, decided to part ways with the team's popular head coach, Gerard Gallant.
This move, however, might not spell a long hiatus for Gallant given the frequent coach shuffling that's prevalent in many teams.
Gallant Could Be Heading To Canada
In fact, Pierre LeBrun of TSN provided an update on other coaching vacancies within the National Hockey League. He indicated that Gerard Gallant, the former New York Rangers bench boss, is showing interest in joining the Calgary Flames.
LeBrun noted,
"The Flames reached out to Gerard Gallant to gauge his interest in potentially coaching in Calgary. The response was positive. As a result, Gallant will be part of the interview process as the Flames converse with several candidates."
