Minor hockey is supposed to be a place where children learn to play a game they love. They should feel protected, happy because they are playing something they love, and shouldn't feel any pressure at all, especially at this young of an age.
We always see hockey parents who going way overboard with their emotions and it seems like this happens more and more in the younger ages for parents and coaches.
During a U12 game in Kalamazoo, while the player in white was chasing down his opponent leaving the zone, the black teams coach reaches over the boards, grabbing his stick and hauling him down to the ice.
No coach should ever be interfering with game play, but especially not when it involves a youth game. There should be serious consequences for this coach.
It's been reported by Bladeofsteel.com, that the child's father is a former ECHL hall of fame player Joel Martin.
