Jack Johnson was drafted back in 2005 3rd overall after Sidney Crosby and Bobby Ryan, to the Carolina Hurricanes. Before even playing a game for the Hurricanes he was traded with Oleg Tverdovsky to Los Angeles Kings for Eric Belanger and Tim Gleason.
Over his 1024 games, Johnson has played on 5 different teams, but spent the majority of his career with the LA Kings and Columbus Blue Jackets.
After having his contract bought-out last year by the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Colorado Avalanche saw this as an opportunity to get a veteran defenceman for the bottom pair at a reasonable cost. Well, this opportunity definitely worked out because at the end of the season we saw Johnson hoist the Stanley cup for the first time in his career!
Every player on the team gets to spend a day with the stanley cup, and what Johnson chose to do on his day was truly special and never done before with the cup.
Johnson took his day to baptize his 3 children in the cup.
