Jaden Schwartz was a former Blue and had a pretty good relationship with Vladimir Tarasenko. They were both drafted in 2010, and became full time NHL'ers together in the lockout shortened 2012-13 season.
Schwartz joined the Seattle Kraken in free agency in their first season, and it was not a good first year for this former first round pick. Schwartz has been having a hard time staying healthy in his career, and last season he only got into 37 games where he scored 23 points.
The Kraken finished 30th last year, and their poor goaltending definitely played a part in their position. The Kraken thought they were getting a stud goaltender right off the bat when they signed Philip Grubauer to be their starter, but after putting up great seasons in Washington and Colorado, his first year in Seattle was very poor. Grubauer had a .889 SV% and 3.16 GAA last season, and so far to start this season it's gotten even worse with .851 SV% and 4.26 GAA.
Last night when the Blues and Kraken played, Martin Jones was the goaltender for the Kraken, and just like Grubauer, his numbers have been very poor to start the year. Jones currently has a .873 SV% and a 3.70 GAA.
Tarasenko who is known as an elite goal scorer in the NHL, received a special request last night from his former teammate:

While this isn't a direct shot at their goaltending, why else would you ask him to be a passer?
