Jonathan Marchessault took time out of his day with the cup to go and visit a children's hospital. For anyone who has ever had to be in the hospital with their child or has been in the hospital as a child themselves knows how stressful it can be.
Marchessault understands this too and brightened the day of several kids and families when he brought both the Stanley Cup and Conn Smythe Trophy to a hospital in Quebec. The Quebec Remparts tweeted out a video of Marchessault greeting families, patients, and staff with the Stanley Cup and a smile. He can even be seen playing mini sticks hockey with one of the children.
After his visit to the hospital, another video was put out by the Quebec Remparts. This time Marchessault is seen it what looks like a parade motorcade.
He has both trophies next to him in the car as he waves to fans and signs autographs on the way by. From both of these videos, it is clear Marchessault remembers what power sports can have to bring people together.
While we see videos and celebrations every summer of players with the Stanley Cup this will probably be the most heartfelt one of the summer.
