Kings Prospect Reveals Details on Serious Injury He Played Through Last Season
This LA Kings prospect recently detailed how he played through a serious injury last season in order to stay in the lineup.
Byfield Reveals Details on Wrist Injury He Suffered Last Season
In a recent interview, Quinton Byfield revealed some serious details about the status of his wrist injury last season, and just how much it impacted his ability to play hockey.
But, more importantly, Byfield revealed to THN that he played almost all of last season with two sprained wrists.
"I only got three goals last year, that's definitely what everyone is talking about," said Byfield. "But you don't realize what issues and stuff people are dealing with.
You know, second game of the year I sprained my wrist and the whole year didn't miss any time (from that injury) and same with the other wrist. So, I couldn't really feel my hands out there the whole year."
Byfield was the subject of some criticism after only putting up 3 goals with the Kings last year, however, this new information is likely to keep his critics quiet. His toughness and determination to play is a signal of his commitment to playing in the NHL.
Kings Need To Focus on Byfield's Recovery For Long Term
Quinton Byfield is one of the LA Kings' top prospects. After being drafted second overall in 2020 by the club, Byfield has been working his way into the Kings lineup, and last season played 53 games with the club. Despite his wrist injury, he was still able to put up 22 points, which isn't too shabby for a young prospect.
